Meditation and adventure retreat on Lofoten 🏔️
For the fifth year running, we’re heading back to the unbeatable Lofoten for meditation and mountain hiking in the beautiful Hopen, September 23–27, 2026. Did we mention the sauna and incredible food?!
Three reasons to join us in Lofoten

Meditation
Throughout the trip we’ll learn to become more present — and above all, we’ll practise it through meditation. Axel will guide you, and you’re welcome to join even as a complete beginner. You’ll discover several rewarding meditations to help you come home to yourself and stay present, both on the trip and back home.

Nature
Lofoten Apartments is a hidden gem in Hopen, between Henningsvær and Kabelvåg — an old fishery that our friends have converted to a modern standard, with a dock facing the water and several balconies. Mountains peak up in every direction, just waiting to be climbed. We think Lofoten, with its breathtaking nature, is one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Adventure
We’ll explore various peaks across Lofoten, some right from the doorstep and others a short distance away. Weather permitting, we’ll eat lunch outside. When we’re not meditating, hiking, or simply being, there’s the option to paddle out into the bay directly from the dock (experience required). The hikes vary in difficulty and give us a real feel for Lofoten.
A few good things to keep in mind before joining us in Lofoten:
Our goal is for the retreat to help you become more present — both during the trip and when you get home. We try to create a space where you can land and simply be yourself. We also take part in most of the activities ourselves, because we know it helps us stay in the moment. Welcome!
- It’s your retreat – We’ve put together a schedule that, from experience, helps us come home to ourselves and to the present moment. But only you know what you need. So there are no rules, no musts, and no shoulds. You do whatever you want and whatever feels right for you.
- We go out regardless of the weather — We’ve found that nature helps us become more present, whatever the weather. We really recommend packing clothes that let you get outside and come home to yourself in nature.
- Digital detox — As mentioned, there are no rules on our retreats. But this might be the perfect opportunity to put your phone away for a weekend — and instead of focusing on what everyone else is doing, just focus on you. If you’d like to hand in your phone, we’ll take care of it for you over the weekend.
- The Food — Our chef Suzie behind Nourish Scandinavia serves incredible food for tired but happy participants and prepares our lunch packs for days out on the trail. The base is vegetarian with elements of seafood (fish). We don’t serve alcohol on our trips, though there’s no ban on it. Did we mention freshly baked bread, scrambled eggs from heaven, or homemade almond butter?
- Who can book — Everyone is of course welcome on our retreats, but Lofoten Apartments is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. It’s also a good idea to get in touch with us before booking if you have any injuries or health conditions that may be relevant — especially as the mountain hikes will be challenging.
- Language — With international guests, the retreat will be held in English.
- What’s it like travelling with us? — Our guests have spoken — read their reviews below or write to us and ask 🙌

Our accommodation Lofoten Apartments

“Our story started in 2014 when we bought this hidden gem of a house in Hopen, that for years was left empty and abandoned. We renovated it and made it into a vacation rental getaway. Our vision and drive has always been the possibility to give other people a firsthand experience of how incredibly wild and beautiful this place is – which is also the reason we fell in love with Lofoten many years ago.” – Erik & Fredrikke

Testimonials from previous participants
Caroline | 2023
It felt so good to tune into how my body was doing and give my mind a real break. There was so much more to discover within myself than I had expected. After Lofoten, I found a deeper connection with myself and my body. Suddenly there was “more space” — to breathe, to listen, to talk, to sing, to feel. Lofoten turned into a true adventure, both for the inner world and the outer one. Thank you!

There are too few words to describe such a magical experience. Nature and presence combined with incredible food, wonderful company, warm laughter, emotional moments, and breathtaking scenery wherever the eye lands — it’s a memory I’ll carry warmly in my heart for the rest of my life. So grateful for this opportunity!
Mariel | 2024
A perfect combination of adventure, magnificent nature, great food, and an inner journey — with no pressure to perform or achieve. Quite possibly the best breakfast I’ve ever had. I tried to explain the trip to friends and the closest I could get was that it’s an experience that wraps around your heart like warm cotton. A huge thank you to Axel and Gustav for your natural and genuine presence and warmth.
